Package #1: Layout + Files for Print & Ebook Formats
You provide a final manuscript, finished cover artwork, the ebook ISBN, and your layout specifications and we produce the PDF, EPUB, MOBI, Kindle 8, and XHTML files. These are all the files you need for Amazon, the Apple iBook store, Barnes & Noble, Lightning Source and every other significant ebook and Print-On-Demand channel. The XHTML file equips you for any web based marketing or subscription projects you may want to pursue now or in the future.
Package #2: Layout + Files for Ebook only Formats
If those titles already published in print, we can use your PDF, Word, RTF, or Open Office file to produce EPUB, MOBI, Kindle 8, and XHTML. This option helps you extend or find new life for backlist titles that have perennial content value or if for some reason you want to continue your in-house print layout process.
Our book production team has been at the forefront of ebook production for over 15 years and our XML workflow produces exceptionally clean files, quickly and affordably. Unlike many ebook production houses that cut out the time consuming proofing steps, we provide two human levels of layout proofing in addition to our XML proofing tools. While we recommend you do your own proofing review, that is primarily so that you can find any textual errors that may have been in the original files.
Many small publishers think they can produce the print layout and ebook production in-house for less, but that is simply not true. When you figure in all the software upkeep and training and the time spent keeping up with constantly changing ebook formats and reading devices, your costs are driven significantly higher that using our services.
